Rogue - Assassination Guide 3.3.5

Equipment Stats:

For your main stat you are gonna need attack power since it boost all abilities you are gonna use as mutilate rogue, next one is crit rating, everyone loves high crits but as mutilate rogue you gonna love it even more since they are some talents that work in synergy with it, third stat you gonna need is haste. But before all of those you gonna need to be hit capped that is 99 hit rating with 5/5 points for yellow attacks , but we are gonna aim for poison hit cap which is 315 with 5/5 precision.

In short:
hit (until 315)-->AP-->Crit-->Haste


Gemming:

For meta gem we are gonna use http://www.wowhead.com/item=41398
Now we need meta requirements: 1 blue, 1 yellow, 1 red.

yellow--> 20ap 10haste   / 10agi 10haste
rest------> 40ap or above

These will change once you get end game gear (which has a lot of haste) then you will want to mix haste with attack power gems. To find out what mix suits you best try one of spreadsheets. Now you are probably asking yourself why would i take faint glyph and not Trick of the trade. Well you will encounter a lot of bosses that do area of effect (aoe) damage and when you do i want you to spam "feint" whenever it is off cooldown to facilitate our healers jobs, not to mention that alive rogue will do more damage then dead one. (And the fact that Trick of the trade is not working)

DPS Rotation:

Like every rogue in every spec you wana start your rotation stealthed becouze of the obvious reasons and those are your openers (usable only in stelth). As mutilate speced you want that for one more reason and that is "overkill" talent. This will be your rotation:

1: Stelth
2: garrote
3: Hunger for blood
4: Slice and dice (eaven with 1 cp)
5: Mutilate untill you get 4 or more cp
6: (cold blood if it is off cooldown) Envenom
7: Vanish
8: garrote
7: Repeat 5 to 6, repeat 5 to 8 whenever vanish is off cooldown

From now on your only worry is to keep HfB and SnD on, SnD will be easy to keep on becouze you will be refreshing it with every envenom and you wana refresh HfB as latest as posible, but never let it reach 0.

Note: You can refrash HfB with anyone's bleed so you wont need to garrote or rupture your target to do it. In case there is no bleed efect on target use your rupture insted of envenom-->HfB and continue your normal rotation.

On encounters where there is a loot of target changing (boss spawning adds and such) there are 2 things you need to know/do:

When switching targets never leave cp-s on your previous target good way to get rid of them is rupture or SnD if it is nearly expired because adds probably wont live long enough for you to prolong SnD standard way (with envenom).

Second thing you need to do is auto attack target if low on energy, i have seen to many rogues switch targets and just stay there next to new one waiting for energy to mutilate it.
there is perfect macro to solve that, just replace your mutilate button with this macro.

It will start auto attack whenever you hit mutilate whether you have energy or no.

3, you need to refresh bonus damage every minute :@
And 4 if you count slice and dice at the start Very Happy
